Meriwether Lewis at Cumberland Gap
While traveling through the Cumberland Gap at the conclusion of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, Meriwether Lewis stopped to perform a survey of the line dividing Kentucky and Tennessee, commonly referred to as the Walker Line. Very little was known about this event, until Lorna Hainesworth undertook extensive research to answer some interesting questions.
