Part I (Prelude) of this publication first appeared as an article in The Bulletin, the quarterly of the Missouri Historical Society, Volume XXIII, No.l, October 1966. Part II (Postlude) was added by Paul Cutright for WPO Publication Number 6, July 1982, for distribution at the 1982 Annual meeting of the Lewis and Clark Trail Hentage Foundation in Philadelphia. There were additional printings in 1988 and 2000. The 2001 revised edition was supplemented by maps designed by Frank Muhly, and reedited for publication by the Philadelphia Chapter of the Foundation. |
